A National Digital Health Bill is currently before the National Assembly, generating significant positive excitement among stakeholders across Nigeria’s digital health ecosystem. The bill—reportedly sponsored by a member of the National Assembly—has already passed its first reading, marking an important step toward strengthening the country’s digital health framework.
In response to this development, the Society for Telemedicine and eHealth in Nigeria (SfTeHIN) and other stakeholders convened a virtual stakeholders’ meeting on 2nd December, during which participants deliberated on the bill and provided a wide range of recommendations. These insights have since been collated into a single document that will be circulated for further review and refinement.
The consolidated recommendations will then be presented at a forthcoming meeting to be hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO), where stakeholders will work together to review and finalize inputs to strengthen the bill.
